Cross Country Skiing: Four main and several smaller trails combine to form our 42 KM Nordic Trail System. The trails feature two warming shelters and are power-tilled and groomed daily. Your Trail Pass includes use of the chairlifts giving skiers quick access to the heart of the Nordic Trail system, as well as the entire Alpine Ski area. In addition, Lake of the Clouds can be reached by following M-107, which is unplowed in winter.

Additional Winter Activities: Snowshoeing - Naturalist guided snowshoe hikes are offered every Saturday, Sunday and other times by request. Saturday evenings you can follow the soft glow of lanterns placed along Superior Loop XC trail and join our naturalist by the bonfire.

Dining Facilities: A attractive A-frame chalet adds Alpine charm to the Porkies. Located at the foot of Hiawatha, the chalet is spacious and well equipped with large picture windows, 3 fireplaces, food service, ski shop, rental service and National Ski Patrol first aid. There is a private room available for groups and the chalet may be rented for evening use.

Lodging: Cabins - The park maintains 3 rustic rental ski-in cabins adjacent to the Nordic trail system. Call Park office for reservations; Nearby Lodging - There are many motels, cabins, chalets and vacations homes available minutes away in nearby Silver City, White Pine, and Ontonagon. You'll also find that the Porcupine Mountains State Park is less than an hours drive from most cities in the Western U.P.
